We breed black Angus cattle selected for conformation, fertility, and especially easy calving and handling.
Our foundation sire Onga Angus Neptune N01 (top left)- so named because of his habit of standing in water troughs when a youngster - is of Ranui and Whaiwhero blood-lines, and has already proven an outstanding prolific sire.
Recently we introduced top Canadian blood-lines to our herd, using imported semen from Hamilton Farms Alcatraz 60F (top right) - a half-share in him broke Canadian sale records in 2019, selling for C$200,000!
Our first son of Alcatraz - Onga Angus Al Capone S11, pictured at 36 months, is already putting outstanding youngsters with top EBVs and Alcatraz-type conformation on the ground, and we are looking forward to breeding the first of his heifer offspring with top US sire Diablo Deluxe 1104 (bottom right) when we AI this coming season. The cross between these International blood lines is predicted by our own developed herd management software, Breed-Track, to produce offspring with outstanding EBVs in almost every trait.
As we build up our pedigree herd we will continue to breed Angus of International quality, conformation and performance - yet still ensuring we retain our fertility and easy calving/easy handling breeding objectives.
Well used to people, our friendly bulls come when called, and most will eat out of your hand when they get to know you.
